Replaced 323 Clutch Has Problems
I had the clutch replaced in my 1989 323 hatchback 4 speed about eight months ago. It seemed fine at first, but now it chatters when I let the clutch out in low gear unless I give it a lot of gas. It also makes a very intermittent chirping/squealing sound (like a bad bearing) when I let out the clutch. Higher gears don't have these issues.
Both problems - especially the noise - seem to be improving somewhat as I continue to drive the car, but are still very annoying and make the car something of a chore to drive. Is there anything I can do to help the situation, other than getting the clutch replaced again? I have been back to the mechanic several times but he can't seem to resolve the situation.

It sounds to me that the bolts that holds your presure plate has become loose. That's what happends when the bolts aren't tight enough...Also here are some questions for you:
A. Did you resurface the flywheel?
B. Did you pull all brand new parts>? ( disk, presure plate and the bearing)
C. What brand did you get? Some of the cheap brands are total junks out there. I have a 323 and many years a go I had the same issue and had to replace the set and get a better one.
My advise to you is:
A. Open it all up and check the bolts torqus.
B. If the bolts are tight, than you must have defective parts.
C. if you replace the parts be sure to resurface the flyweel again.
Good luck buddy
