Removing seat belt cover trim on 323
Hi. I have a 1995 Mazda 323 sedan that I am going to fit a new driver side (R/H) seat belt to. I need to know how to remove the plastic cover panel that covers the belt on the pillar. Does the cover pop straight off with a bit of a pull, or do you have to slide it in a particular direction? I'd rather not break of the tags/clips if possible! Many thanks, Graham.

Okay, I founda Mazda dealer mechanicwith a service manual and this is what he said.
"I have checked in the workshop manual for you, it does not tell one how to remove it. As long as you have pulled back the door welt from either side of the b pillar, checking there are no clips, or screws at base of trim by the floor. You will be quite safe to remove trim, from memory there are 2 clips holding it against the pillar which will easily come out when you pull on trim."
I'll have a go this weekend and let you know how it goes.

The above worked, but in addition you need to remove the plastic kick panels front and rear to give the trim enough room to pull out. There were about three clips behind the trim and they were tight (2 pulled out of car body, one out of the trim), but came away with a firm pull.
