Default Purge control valve

Hi everyone,
I got my 1996 mazda 626 back from the shop and they told me I needed my purge control valve changed.
1st were is it located at in the car
2nd it is easy to remove
3rd what does it look like and what site carrys a pic of it so I can get one at a auto store thank you.

sounds like you also need to check out the haynes or chiltons manual for your car. they are useless for big jobs, but perfect for small jobs like this. go to the parts house and ask for the manual and the pcv valve for your car. tell them your motor size, year, and make and they will help you out.

did shop say you have a code? po443 or something like that? a PCV valve (positive crank ventalation)valve isnt a purge control valve.

my 96 milly S had code po443(different car)wich was purge control valve and this is what i replaced.yours will probably just have one valve,mine came with two egr valve solenoids as well.i think most of them are on the back firewall,around the brake booster.

Default Purge Control Valve

the code that they got was P0441 and the said (evaporative Emission System Incorrect Purge flow Detected, Inspet,purge flow valve found it dried and cracked,Most likely leaking evap fumes, Recommend Replace Purge Control Valve) So I want to know where to located it and replace it.

Default follow the vacum diagrahm

you should be able to follow the vacum diagrahm under the hood and find it.how much did they want to change it? takes about 15 minutes to change
