Default New to forum..I have a Red'99, 626

Need some suggestions on the ODBII engine codes P0175....may have trans. problem ....

among others elect. problems, any one experience dash lights slow fading...could be bulb prob or cirqt board...any ideas from anyone?

Hello TKMazda and welcome.

P0175 is indicating that the left bank of cylinders ( next to radiator ) is running too rich and the adaptive fuel control system is at the lean correction limit. Kind of an unusual code to get on a V6 without the other bank of cylinders also rich. Were you by chance able to get the Freeze Frame Data that was stored when this code was set? This Data contains information about sensor outputs and fuel trims for both banks of cylinders that might tell us if the right bank is close behind. Particularly interested in the Long and Short fuel trim percentages for both cylinder banks.
Some things that might isolate this problem to one bank could be a lazy oxygen sensor O2S21 or even a leaking injector.

I assume the left bank being the 3 spark plugs ports

I have replaced my own spark plugs...and they do need replacing again.

I havent changed much of anything else.


I was using one of the aftermarket OBDII testers after the 2nd one it read this code only once. I didnt trust the device much after using two of the same model.....which one do you recommend..if any...are dealer ones accurate or Pep Boys...

Actron is recommended by Chiltons....

The 3 cylinders closest to the front of the vehicle is left bank, three cylinders closer to the firewall or windshield are right bank. Would not expect spark plugs to fix a one bank over rich condition but if they are very old then worth a try. I have never used an aftermarket scanner to retrieve codes so not sure I could recommend one for you. The dealer one is of course accurate and could also give you freeze frame data that would tell us a little more about the problem. Parts stores often use several different ones as some work on some cars and not well on others. Unfortunately no freeze data would be available from them or so I am told.

Hey, Babyhuey,

I decided to change the plugs and the EGR plug with aftermarket products ie Bosch 2 spark plugs.

Interesting that the plugs look like they were miss firing oily and some dry. Car runs better but still concern about the Code P1075 for turbine sensing cirqt.

I think we are getting confused with the code numbers here TKMazda. In your first post you noted P0175 which is adaptive fuel control too rich for left bank. Now you noted P1075 which does not exist. Could it have been P0715 which is input/turbine speed sensor/ insufficient input from TSS? Is very important that we know the exact code # as there are several hundred different ones and each points to a fault in different areas of engine and transmission operation.

s'ok TKMazda. Easy to do with all of those different number scrummed together all meaning something different. So now what code are you getting? The P0715 for input /turbine speed sensor?
Assuming it is then might want to check the resistance of the Turbine Speed Sensor. It is located just to the rear of the trans mount on drivetrs side of vehicle. Will be a lot less trouble to get access by removing the left front tire and trans splash shield that extend up to the strut area then by going in from the top. Below are a couple of diagrams. Note in top diagram the threaded studs in upper part of drawing. Those are studs for the trans mount to give you better idea of location. Resistance of sensor should be 253-609 ohms. There are only two wires to it. If resistance is ok then remove and check tip for any metallic buildup or damage. The sensor is magnetic and tends to attract any metal circuilating in the oil.
