Smile Need help in wiring stereo

I have a 2001 Mazda 626.

I have the following wires coming from my car -

Purple
Yellow
Black - this wire is very thick compared to the others
Light green/black
White/Black
Yellow/Black
White
Blue/Red
Green/Yellow
Brown
Yellow/Red
Grey
Blue/Red
Green/Red
Pink/Black.

I am not sure what to plug into my new harness which has eight plugs which I presume are for the four speakers and another four plugs which I presume must be for the power.

I have a standard 4 speaker car with an electric aerial.

Any help? Thanks.

Are you replacing a factory unit or an aftermarket unit? have you cut any connectors?
I ask because the colors don't sound right to me. They may need to be wiped off thoroughly to see their color clearly (I've had to do that several times).

8 plugs would be speakers. The other 4: ground, constant 12V, switched 12V, and remote lead (for electric antennas and/or amplifiers)
