Mazda 626 central locking gone crazy
I have a Mazda 626 2002 GXi. Never had a problem until yesterday. Travelling yesterday door locks started clicking locked/unlocked ar random intervals. Locked up car and went to bed. This morning, when I tried to open the driver's door with the key (remote broken) the locks immediately fired shut so I couldn't open the door. Discovered holding up door handle allowed me to open door, but as soon as I released it, all the locks (including the boot) started clicking open/locked like crazy. Getting in the car and closing door stopped the clicking, with locks all in the "locked" position. Could then open the locks manually. Also, having opened the door, pressing the "door closed switch" (bottom left) stopped the clicking.
I don't want to go to an electrician's and get taken for a ride (I've just retired and not awash with cash) so would be really grateful for any help / pointers. The boot door lock seems to be faulty as I cannot insert key all the way in, but the actuator seems to firing OK. Something is sending a trigger signal - any ideas?
Many thanks in advance.
