I have just purchased a mazda 323 GLXI 1.6 16v which runs ok apart from a split second random engine cut out whilst driving.
It seems to be getting more frequent. The only thing i have checked is the fuel filter and that seems ok.
Does anyone have any ideas what this might be?

Give a check to your ignition system paying prarticular attention to your distrubutor rotor. Sometimes has a problem with burning a ground path to the distrubutor shaft causing all sorts of running problems.
