Default Mazda 323 1.5´99 Fuel Filter

Hi,

I have a Mazda 323 1.5 from 99 and I would like to change the Fuel Filter since the car stutters on the highway.
I´m not 100% sure if this black container is the fuel filter, if not then what is it?
And where should I look for the fuel filter in that case?

Thanks

That is the charcoal canister. Its used for the emission system.

Follow the fuel line backwards from the fuel rail, if it goes to a metal canister in the engine bay, then it will be the filter. If the fuel line disappears down the firewall then you will have a in-tank fuel filter.
