1997 Mazda 626 4cyl manual transmission
250,000 miles engine runs great
My car will not shift into any gear while the motor is running.. It will go into gear while the car engine is off and can be started in 1st gear or reverse and will go but won't go into any gears while its just idling... I need help if anybody could shed some light on my problem.
New clutch kit and flywheel with only 30,000 miles so I figure it might be possible that it won't be too complicated but just worried that the tranny has to be dropped for the fix and that won't be cheap.

 

I’m having similar issues with my ‘99 626. master and slave cylinders replaced 2 years ago. New clutch 1 year ago. It seems worst when I’m coming out of 5th. But occasionally going from one gear to another, Too. But then it will be fine. Not like when my cylinders went out.

Please se let me know if you get any answers. REALLY hoping to avoid an ignorant (on my part) diagnostic fee.
