I am looking to buy a small 4cyl for commute to school.
This is for sale right now and it looks like a good deal.
I am going to look at it tonight IS there anything in particular I should check or look for? He said he just replaced the starter. He runs a shop and someone brought it in and couldnt afford to fix it so he bought it and fixed it to sell. "Little old lady" story.

basic stuff
oil leaking, how hot it gets, hit the brakes and let go of the steering wheel to check the brakes are even, turn the wheel hard over and drive and listen for clicking (cv joints) do it for left and right, if manual check every gear is sweet. ask about rust.

 

If your really worried about it, have a shop do a diagnostic test on it. May cost you $80-120, but it'll tell you what they might not know is wrong with it.
