Default How to Remove 1988 mazda 323 hatchback ignition switch?

I got a car for free from my cousin that was stolen from him, and the people who stole it tore out the whole plug into the back, and i just cant figure out how to remove the whole thing so i can replace it with another

It has breakaway bolts on it. Remove the column covers and on top of the column is a U shaped bracket with what looks like 2 heavy duty rivets. They are bolts with the heads broken off. Use a punch/chisel/whatever to loosen them up enough to turn them by hand/pliers.
