how difficult is it to replace sump on mazda 323?
hi everyone, im wondering how difficult it would be to replace the sump on my 1997 mazda 323? i am fairly handy but some advice would be good!
i would also like to know if having a hole in the sump would effect the clutch in any way? to run the car just now i need to let the clutch out all the way to the top to get a biting point which makes me think that its not just needing replaced!
thanks for helping
Greg

I"m bringing back the dead here I know, and by now I hope you have found the problem...
A leaky sump may have caused engine oil to get on the clutch/bell housing and cause the clutch disk to absorb some of it making inslippery in all but the highest clamping force conditions. I"d certainly be looking at that if I were doing the job.
