Default Holy Cow! Throttle Body 1995 626 FS Engine

Hi Folks,

Re the continuing idling problem with my FS engine. This afternoon I pulled the throttle body out and was absolutely amazed at the crystalline growths between the butterfly valve and the upper part of the bore of the throttle body.

It looks as ifthewater causing this corrosion is coming out of one or both of the vacuum ports at the top of the bore on the air flow meter side of the butterfly valve. One of these vacuum ports if connected to the EGR modulator valve and the other to the EGR solenoid.

I imagine if this theory is correct that the water is coming from exhaust gases. Perhaps this means that the diaphragm in either the EGR modulator valve or the EGR control valve has a hole in it.

Has anyone experienced this corrosion problem and can you please comment on the cause?

Thanks and regards
