Hesitation on acceleration, hard to start when warm
I've got a 97 626LX I4 standard transmission car with 121k miles that is experiencing hesitation on acceleration and occasionally is hard to start after sitting for about an hour. I have replaced: air filter, fuel filter, plug, wires, cap and rotor. Have also cleaned the MAF and verified it's working properly. It also had new O2 sensors and a new Cat converter within the last year. My mechanic(a good one)looked it over and can't find anything wrong. It idles fine, starts fine when cold, runs fine at all speeds and will acceleratefine if done slowly. Floor it and there is a hesitation for about 2 seconds, then it accelerates up to speed. I could live with the hesitation, but the hard to start when warm is a real problem (showed up at the same time as the hesitation). Sometimes I have to crank it 8 times before it finally starts.
Anyone else have this problem?
Any ideas on what to try to diagnose and fix it?
