Default Engine Fuel Shutoff Valve/Solonoid

Hello,

I have just purchased a Mazda 323f 2002 model Sport 1.9 Petrol and there is a major issue where it seems to be jumping, almost as if it is about to stool (sometimes does).

I have been told this is an issue with the engine fuel shutoff valve/solenoid, I do have the engine codes, one is P1170 and the other is P0171 (this code is apparently because the car is running too lean on fuel).

I am currently trying to track down the where about of the solenoid/valve in the car, I have been told it is on the fuel pump, or in the boot but I can't find anything.

I'm not a mechanic, just someone that likes to tinker around in cars, so I try to learn and fix things where I can myself.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance for any help that you can give me.

Thanks.

Sounds like it needs a good tune up.

Both of those codes are related to the O2 sensor or Air-Fuel Sensor
