Hi,

on a 4 door mazda 626 saloon Year 2000, my front passenger door window does not respond to the open/close switch (driver door or passenger door). Luckily it failed with window closed.
Now - what to do ?
Is it the motor (Passenger Door)
Is it the switch (Passenger or Driver door)
Could it be a fuse - I should be so lucky .
All the other windows will openn close.
Sounds like the motor in the passenger door.....
While driving today, my son said he could hear the door motor vibrating, even tho no switch was being operated.... hmmm......

Wher would you start to check ?
As I remember, I tried to remove the doorpanel once to check for leaks in the plastic sheet and gave up . It seemed to be impossible to remove thepanel....

Any ideas ?

I would first start with the fuse and if it is good then I would say that you need a window
regulator. To rule out the switch you can always get a power testing from autozone and just
put it on there to make sure that you are getting power from the switch

 

Or, just jump the switch and see ifit works that way. I'd check for available power there first though... and the fuse box.

 

No! it's not the passenger door switch.. bummer !

It's not the motor.it tests ok with 12volts - will go up /down by reversing power 12V/0V ...

it has to be the driver door switch cluster - controls all four doors.......unlikely to be a diss somewhere ...in the loom..

The wiring is a bitch to follow.
The passenger door switches wires that dissappear back into the loom -possibly back over to the driver door......
impossible totrace the wires from door to door....

I have a tech manual, but for some reason , it does not seem to have diagram of the 4 door switch connectors,,,,,
It does have a continuity chart , but without the connector diagram , it 's no good..
Will have to test by substitution....Maybe get a 2nd hand one...

If i knew the wiring on the driver door switch, I could swap over a wire(s) (pair?) on the connector from one of the back door windows.
So I lose a back door open/close possibility .....
But at least I would have my front passenger able to open/close....
