Egr valve & throttle body cleaning help.
I bought a 1998 Mazda 626 that has the V6 and a manual transmission one year ago. I have been driving it for one year and everything works in this car. This car has 237,000 miles on it and is running really good right now. However the check engine light is on and Auto Zone told me it is giving an EGR valve error code (sorry they did not give me the code number). I need to fix the problem due to I need to license this car again and get it to pass emissions.
I did order the EGR gaskets, but it is going to take three days for them to arrive. I have read on the net that many times you do not need to clean the EGR valve, but the main problem is the throttle body needs to be cleaned.
Anyone with some good advice on exactly what to do to fix the problem and get the check engine light to go off please post here. I need to keep this Mazda running down the road...

Today I cleaned out the throttle body with throttle body cleaner and wiped it out the best I could with a clean rag without taking it off. I was able to poke some wire into the two holes inside the throttle body that go to the ERG valve and they were not plugged.
