Default Car Always at 1900-2000 RPM!!!

Hey guys, I am new the Mazda community so Hello!! to everyone here. I got my hands on a 1995 Mazda 626 2.0L 5-Speed a couple of weeks ago. The problem I am facing is something like this. The other day...I took a can of seafoam and ran the entire can through the brake booster line and took another can and sprayed it in the throttle body...when I started the car after about 35-45 minutes....it started up just fine...of course a lot of smoke and crud burning up but what I noticed was that the carwas always revingbetween 1900-2000 RPM does not matter if its hot or cold. I took off the TB assembly to see of the butterfly plate is stuck open or not but I dont think its stuck open or anything of that sort from what I could see. I tried resetting the computer by disconnecting the battery terminal....but to no avail. Another problem that I experience while driving is that when I am driving normally at any speedand pressthe clutch all the way down and keep it down....the RPM starts to jump from 900-1600 and thisdrop to 900 and the jump back to 1600RPMhappens within 1 to 1.5 second approximately. However when I come to a complete stop...the RPM gets stable at 2000 RPM. I dont know what to do...I dont want to dump this car or sell it cause its so nice to drive when working right....PLEASE help me on how to solve this issue. Thank in advance.

Is your AC on? I just got my hands on a 94 of the same description but the AC wouldn't hold freon so I bypassed the pully. But the fans only run when the AC is on so when I'm at a stop the engine revs up to about 1900 rpm to compensate for the load it think's the AC is supposed to be putting on the engine. You should be fine as long as you keep your fans running and your radiator full.

Hope this helps!

Hey John thanks for your opinion.....no the car's AC is not turned on.....I am so pissed at this because the high RPM screws up the gas mileage....and since gas is around $2.85 where I live...it really becomes a PITA pretty quickly

Pay no attention to anything thatmazdasucks says.

He's obviously an idiot and has no problem with everyone knowing that fact.
