Alternator Problem
Hi, I'm new to the forum and have been a long-time 323 enthusiast. I own a 1988 323 hatchback and it has been my baby.
When I got the car it had belonged to an old lady who got her license revoked so it sat for about 17 years. Lucky for me, that meant perfect body condition and unbelievably low mileage. The bad part is, all the parts are now 21 years old...
That being said, I have to replace my alternator. Now I don't know if I'm an idiot or something but I can't get it out. I took it off and everything but the opening in the engine compartment is too small to pull it out (and probably put the new one in). Has anyone ever had this problem?? How do I get the damned thing out? Any help would be appreciated.
Alex

so i guess if anyone has this problem in the future. there are a few ways to do this:
1. pray your tensioner bolts aren't rusted like mine and take the tensioner off
2.loosen the engine mount and jack up the engine to create some space.
