Angry acceleration problem

Have 1989 323 sohc 1.6L hatchback with an acceleration problem. The vehicle first thing in the morning when it gets started it doesn't sound normal where it revs at a certain pace, this one sounds like an f16 ready for take off. After a while driving it settles down and is ok. I sure would like to find out what could be causing this?. I've replaced the throttle body, egr-with no results.
Please?--any help would be appreciated....

Is there a check engine light? What are the codes? I suspect you have a vacuum leak somewhere. Maybe there are cracks in the air intake snorkel.
