99 626 Brake Lights

Default 99 626 Brake Lights
I have a 99 mazda 626 4cyl. Mybrake lights stay on when my headlights are on. The brake lights work normally when headlights are off. Any one run into this problem before?

I would guess Al is right! If the car does not have a hitch now, perhaps it did at one time?

No evidence of a hitch ever being on it. All of the wires look good, no cuts or splices anywhere. Do you think it could be in the switch that turns the lights on?
