91 323 axle question

Default 91 323 axle question

in my dads 323 hatch the transaxle light came on so hes replacing the axles. he got the driver side off but the passenger side wont come off and we just keep breaking tools. he was wondering if it was reverse thread or any thing

any ideas

There is no transaxle light that would come on prompting you to just replace the axles. Are you talking about the HOLD light on the dash???

The HOLD light coming on is very similar to the check engine light coming on. The only difference is that the problem is with a transmission related item and not an engine related item. If the HOLD light is on or flashing all of the time it means that the computer has detected an internal problem and you need to find out what kind of code has been stored that will help to guide you as to what the problem is. Changing the axles will not do anything for this.
