Default 88 626 engine swap

my first car, a 1988 mazda 626 NA recently died on me. i already have another car, but want to have a winter project car to work on. rather than rebuild the stock motor, i was considering purchasing a 13b rotary out of an fc rx7 and rebuilding the whole car to be RWD. I understand that this would be a difficult project, but would it be possible? i have all the tools required, and just need advice on how to go about the swap

A difficult project? I'd say nigh on impossible. Why? I seriously doubt you'll be able to fit the RWD drivetrain under the car without S-E-R-I-O-U-S editing of the firewall and the entire floor pan of the body. Even if your welding skills are up to snuff, how do you figure on maintaining the unibody's structural integrity after you've literally cut the lower part of the car in half?

that does make sense. i just don't think it would be even remotely possible to build the current engine to anything half decent
