I have a 1992 626 with the manual 5-speed transmission. It has 186K miles. I have no owner's manual. I'm wanting to change the transmission fluid, and the old stuff looks red, like automatic transmission fluid (ATF). But since it's a manual transmission, I'm doubting that it takes ATF. Does anyone know what type and weight of oil I should put in the manual transmission?

 

Manuals take Hypoid Gear Oil. Look for something that says GL-5, the weight is 80w-90. Castrol Hypoy C Gear Oil is what I've used in the past.
