i just bought an '89 626 5 speed 2.0 L with a known leaky gas tank. its been driven in the salt and snow in minnesota so it has lost of rust but runs excellent. i need to replace the gas tank. anyone know how to go about that? i'm pretty good with cars but have never done a tank swap before.
i also have no E brake and i wanted to adjust the play in it before looking at replacing the rear pads. how do i get to the e brake adjustment?

 

It is held to the cars with straps. You have to disconnect all electrcal coonections & lines running to the tank. I woul also disconnect the negative cable from the battery first.

 

The e-brake adjustment is probaly at the handle. Remove the cover & there should be an adjustment screw that you can turn with a flat head screw driver.
