Hello,
Just wondering if anyone has done a front wheel bearing replacement on a 1993 ES 626?? My front right is bad and I wanted to know how involved the job is. I will do repairs if I feel I can and how darn cold it is in Michigan at the time!! At this point my mechanic is telling me the cost is around $250.00 per side.
Any input on this repair will be appreciated-Thanks for your help!!

Well getting the hub assembly aint the worst thing to change. The bearings for a good one are like 65 dollars a peice and the you will need to press the assembly apart and installl the new bearings wich most machine shops like the one I work at we get 38 dollars to do that if you buy the bearing through us. So your mechanic isnt really hoseing you but why not save 250 bucks and knock it out your self.

 

Hey thanks for your reply-So it's really not that difficult-sounds like you might spend more time with the machine shop. My mechanic said that one side is basically faster to do than the other-can't remember which side he said. I guess I should pick up a repair manual for the 626.
