I wanted to find out if anyone knows if i can swap a '98 engine with a '97 engine both 626 LX? will the motor mounts line up...any help would be good thanks.....

i have a '97 626 ES that i just recently put another engine in. i don't believe they are compatible. '98 & '99 should be. '93-97' should be able to be swapped. also you can swap with ford probe engine or MX6- all the same. fyi: i still had so many parts that needed to come off my original motor because the one i bought was slightly different. exhaust manifold, intake manifold, valve covers, etc. hope this helps some. maybe someone else can chime in!

thanks for the info, that helps me, now i know if i should even try to attemp the swap, i think i should just wait untill i find 98 rather than trying to get a head ache...
