Default 626 driveaxels??

I'm trying to help my friend to take apart his driveaxels and we cant get the thing out... it is a 626 from -94. the thing is stuck in there if anyone has had any similiar problems i would really appresiate some ideas...

also I was wondering if the lower balljoint is welded or if it is pressed in, in other words can you replace the balljoint or do you need to replace the whole arm...

thx rob...

Default RE: 626 driveaxels??

You're going to need to either buy or rent a tool to push the axle out of the knuckle/bearing assembly. Don't bother hammering on it as you will completely destroy the axle end and will still not move. Will post a picture of the style I use. The silver legs attach to the lug nut studs and center part will push the axle on out. Many parts stores will rent tools on a daily basis so check this option out. The lower ball joint is part of the a-arm as well. Will need to replace the entire assembly if ball joint is bad. The inner bushings are available as well as the ball joint dust boot though.
