My fiancee owns a 2000 626 4cly. She has to jump start it and she says that when driving it sounds like it wants to stall on her. Could this be the battery or alternator? I don't have enough money to go buy a battery and alternator just one of them. Right now she is on the other side or town and I don't want to drive all the way out there then back to get the right tools/parts.

Can anyone help me with this asap?

 

sounds like alternator.. .the battery is ment to start the car and after that its the alternator that is suppost to suport your system if it is comepletely stalling it is probably your alternator... bring the alternator to a place where they check it and they will give you a definate answer before you go out and but a new one

 

autozone I believe does free diagnostics for both alternator and battery.
