I have a 1995 626 that will not idle. It will start right up and die as soon as I let off of the gas. I changed the ect sensor, I cleaned out the throttle body and the Iac valve. (How does the Iac work anyway) My car has the ect sensor with the round connector the only way I found a replacement was to look it up under a 1995 Ford Probe. Also is there a shop manual on line for this model? Thanks in advance.

 

Does it idle when the car is in normal operating temperature?

 

No. As an update I fixed the following. Replaced the intake manifold gasket, the throttle body gasket, the throttle body including the ECT, TPS the IAC ,the MAF,wires, plugs, cap and rotor are also new. I then checked my ignition timing and found it was off by 10 degrees. The car idles fine now but it has a miss ever so often. I pulled the fuel rail and checked the injectors all were fine. If the miss does not get worse Ill live with it.
