I am the proud owner of an almost perfect 1980 626 with 27k actual miles. I also am the idiot who failed the think about checking the health of the coolant prior to last winter and have a cracked block due to it freezing up sometime last winter.
It has been difficult trying to locate an engine and I’m looking for any advice. I would like to stay pretty much stock and not looking to hop it up. I found a couple shops that advertise rebuilt ma engines, but when contacted they are of course not available. Should I just get whatever used engine I can get my hands on and go with it or rebuild it? Is there a shop that might still offer rebuilt ma engines? Are there any other engine options that would swap in using same mounts? Any and all advice would be appreciated!
I realize that a lot of what I’m asking may be answered in previous posts, but I did try to search and couldn’t find what I needed.
