Default "Room" Fuse problem

Hey I am new to this forum. Thanks in advance for any help. I have a 1995 Mazda 626

I got a new radio a few weeks ago. Last night I was driving and listening to the radio fairly loud but then I turned it down and was listening at a reasonable level when all the sudden the radio and interior lights went out and my "door open" light came on. Only there were no doors open.

This morning I checked the fuses and it was a blow 15 Amp "Room" fuse. I put in a new one only when I inserted it it sparked and blew the fuse. The keys were not in the ignition so it wasn't like I had a bunch of things running when I did this. I tried another fuse and the same thing happened. I thought about disconnecting my battery to get the fuse in but I figured as soon as I reconnected the battery it would blow again.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Who did the radio install? It seems like it started there. I would guess a hot wire that goes to the radio has come loose and shorted causing the fuse to blow. Are there any other non OEM accessories added?

I think its the blue and orange wires that are always hot... make sure they are covered properly... also make sure it is properly grounded!

I had problems with fuses continually blowing after I removed my stereo. It turned out the previous owner had put a wrong fuse in the fusebox (it was something like a 15A where a 30A should have been). I put the correct fuse in, changed the room fuse and everything worked again.

So all I can say to you is to check every single fuse in the box and make sure they are the correct amp rating.
