Unusually hot brakes
First off, Hi to you all!
I have recently bought a used 2006 Mazda 6 2.0 Diesel Estate TS2 and I love it. Great car, fun to drive and lots of room for my dogs in the back.
One thing is worrying me though. After even a 30 min drive from home to work, when I get out there is a distinct cooling down "ticking" noise from all four wheels. The brake drisks, tyres and other bits all feel hot to the touch. This happens even if I drive very smoothly and don't do lots of hard braking. Also the brake disks look pretty crappy and rusted.
I am not much of a petrol head but I have never seen this on any other car.
Anyone else had similar problems? Did a quick search in this forum but didn't find anything similar except for one person having rusted disks.
Thanks for your help.

break doesn't get hot when they are free. maybe pads are little bit gripping your rotor disk. perhaps you need to have a break service. co'z if not it will cost your car more damage. this problem can damage all the seal on you spindle, not just that but all the rubber made parts around ti... or even your clutch it your pads are holding your rotor.
Braking systems have gotten pretty complicated and contain proportioning valves etc. to even the applied pressure on all cylinders to prevent locking up and skid. The result is that a sticky handbrake release can now manifest itself as brake drag even on the front wheels. Same applies to sticking pedal pivot/ linkage which impedes prompt return of fluid to the reservoir upon releasing the pedal. Check out these two issues and correct if need be before getting any deeper.
Took it to a Mazda garage and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I guess I was just being a hypochondriac. Was worth the £35 I paid for peace of mind though.
