Trouble With the Turbo
Hey Im new to this forum in perticular but have been a part of the sister BlazerForum for a while now. Anyway my inlet oil seal went out and started dumping oil into my exhaust and intercooler. What I am wondering is if I should take the cooler out and clean it or if I should just leave it and blow whatever is left through and let it burn off. Being that I am not very knowledgeable on ricers or turbos any suggestions are appreciated. The car is an 89 MX6 GT (not AWS) with a stock 2.2L turbo with 64000 origional miles.

RE: Trouble With the Turbo
If it was mine, I would remove the intercooler and flush something like mineral spirits through it. Use about a quart and slosh it around to get as much oil out as possible. The biggest concern is for the catalytic converter getting partially clogged with oil.
