Default timing belt

Trying to check honesty of my auto mechanic. Had new radiator put in yesterday (1990 mazda mpv) Today timing belt broke. Are the two connected in some way, ie. do you have to remove the timing belt to put in new radiator?Sure would appreciate some help. Thanks

Default RE: timing belt

The timing belt is in no way related to replacement of the radiator. It would be very difficult to make the connection. The timing belt is behind covers that would have to be removed to even inspect it. The timing belt should be replaced every 90K.

No way unless you also had the water pump removed. And even then I don't know that an MPV has the water pump in the timing. But if you just had radiator replaced, no relation.
