Default Throttle lag on 2006 Miata NC

I recently bought a 2006 Miata NC and the elctronic throttle has about a half second delay. I press the accelerator but it takes half a second for the engine to react. This makes it difficult to pull away and change gear smoothly.
Has anyone else noticed this? Can the delay be reduced?

Default RE: Throttle lag on 2006 Miata NC

ive heard of the opposite effect happening.. you take your foot off the gas, and the revs stay where they are for half a second or so, and im pretty sure that can be fixed, so your problem should be fixable too..
it would be controlled with the computer,
im not a carcomputer guy, so maybe some one else on this forum will be able to help you
