Throttle lag on NC

I recently bought a 2006 NC and the elctronic throttle has about a half second delay. I press the accelerator but it takes half a second for the engine to react. This makes it difficult to pull away and change gear smoothly.
Has anyone else noticed this? Can the delay be reduced?
