Takata Air Bag Inflator Recall
This was sent out today to the Dealers from Mazda USA and I thought I would share in case anyone was concerned.
Takata Manufacturing, makers of air bag inflators for numerous car lines, announced that they are expanding their recall for the Frontal Air Bag Inflators. They did not release any specifics at this time. Mazda is researching the information and should have a list populated within a month.
Takata inflators were NOT used in any Mazda line in 2016.

Not sure about the USA, but in my market it involves both pre facelift & facelift GG & GY
( some, not all) Mazda 6's, a few RX8s & a few B series utes from 2004 - 2006.
I've been replacing the airbag inflators ( not the whole airbag assembly) in them for the last month or so.

Same here with the inflators. Takata sends out a press release that they are expanding the recall. Sounds like the caught the automakers by surprise. Now it's a scramble to find out what years they are going to extend to.
