Default Tail and dash lights not working

Can someone please help?

My tail and dashlights do not work.
1. brake lights work
2. fuse checks ok
3. bulbs check ok
4. head lights work
5. brake light socket gets voltage when brake pedal is engaged
6. tail light socket does not get voltage with head lights are turned on.

Do I change any of the components in the power distribution box?

This is going to sound real dumb, but if the stereo is not working, check the stereo fuse. depending what year/model you have, your dash lights, tail lights, and stereo are on the same fuse.

if it is not the stereo, it could be the multiswitch on the steering column. it might not be operating correctly, therefore not sending the signal to turn the lights on.

HI, I'm having the same problem, seems like it's common but any solutions anyone? Checked the fuse all ok. Previously before it went out, I used to get intermittent when I go over a bump on the road. But after a few bumps, it totally gone. Any help is appreciated

My apologies for not responding to Ironwindow. We had extensive water leakage from the sun roof and it was the multi-switch in the steering column as he suggested. Replaced it and everything is working fine.

Default Same problem:Tribute

2001 Tribute: Dashboard lights and tail lights out. Fuses look good. Stereo works. I just changed the column lights switch/turn signal wand. It did not resolve the problem. At first, the left turn signal would not blink, then it did, and now no dashboard, or tail lights. What is next for repair? I need some help.
