Angry Slippery Steering Wheel

I drive a Mazda 3 (2015) and I’m seriously disappointed in low-grade grip properties of its steering wheel.
The steering wheel is hard and usually (if my hands are not sweaty – and this is often) VERY SLIPPERY making the driving quite tedious and disappointing experience.
Does anybody knows why the steering wheel is made in hard SLIPPERY plastics anyway?
Does anybody can suggest a remedy or some home made solution?
Would be much appreciated!
Thanks. Regards.

Well, I've actually fixed it - with some self-amalgamating tape(!?) - and now it is way better than the original product
The question remains: Why Mazda mount in their cars the steering wheels mad of hard and slippery plastics...??
It (slippery steering wheel) could probably help Mazda kill us. Nevertheless it certainly kills the joy of driving...
