Default Steering Wheel Adjustment?

Hey everyone! I'm a new guy here! Been reading thru lots of good stuff but have come up with a question I haven't seen yet. I have a 2007 3 5 door, I'm 6'2" and really cannot find a good position for the steering wheel for me. It's has telescoping tilt but would like to get more tilt out of the wheel. Has anyone ever checked into if the tilt mechanism can be adjusted or modified in some way for more tilt? TIA!

I wouldn't recommend it. The steering column is design to absorb impact (just in case you are too stupid to wear your seatbelt.) Any modifications to it could result in it not working properly when you need it most.

Have you raised you seat up some? You should have vertical height adjustment on your seat as well. I assume you are trying to get more down tilt?

I've tried every seating configuration. I'm trying to achieve a low cockpit feel. I've even modified the angle of the seat base a bit to give me the seat bottom angle I desire ( long legs require more support under the back of the legs )but the steering wheel is just too high.Yes, more tilt so the wheel is closer to my legs.

Yeah, I was going to suggest a different seat. Screwing around with the steering column is probably not a good idea.
