OK, I know this is a Mazda forum...
I have a Ford Explorer XLT (1998) that I'm doing a tune up on. Here's my problem, how the heck do I get to the spark plugs? The whole intake manifolds are covering the whole top of it. Can someone please help me with how the heck I'm gonna get to the sparks!
post a pic, and it will be easier for us to understand...
but you may have to remove the intake to get at the spark plugs....
or use some universal joints, and some long extensions

Ok, here's the picture of one of the spark plugs, the circle is where the spark is, and the arrow is pointing to the fuel injector:

And here's the whole block from a back and an estimate on where the rest of the sparks are (the spark from the first picture is on the right hand bottom):

Spark plugs are right on top of the exhaust manifolds. In your pics. Trace the plug wires down the side of the engine and along the top of the exhaust manifold. Might be easier to access if you remove your wheelwell liner and access from the bottom.
I circled in red what I believe to be the plug end of one of the spark plug wires. (You lucked out...I'm a Ford Engineer and have a 302 powered 74 Bronco.)

Ok, I traced the spark wires and it seems I was going in the wrong direction in finding them. They ARE on the side by the exhaust manifolds. But other thing, what you circled wasn't a spark plug, it was a manifold, haha.
Thanks though!
