Default Oil in my plugs

I was changing my spark plugs and I found plugs 2&3 where soaked in oil, but plugs 1&4 where dry. I have an idea of possible issues, but I'm a novice. Does any body have suggestions of the possible issue?

Where exactly was the oil? On the outside? On the inside where the spark happens?

I hope it's on the outside. You remedy that by replacing the valve cover gasket set.

If it is on the inside you remedy that by major engine work.

I don't even need to know what car and engine and mileage you present us with.

did you find it when you pulled the plug wire or ignition coil off of the plug? if so you have some spark plug tube seals leaking. you'll have to remove the valve cover to remove the seals. you can get a complete valve cover gasket set from fel-pro gaskets with everything you need
