Default O/D OFF button fell off

The O/D OFF button fell off the shifter of my '98 Protege ES, and I didn't notice it until I went to use it. I think I found all the little pieces and deduced out how they should all go together, but have not been successful restoring normal operation of the switch. Must be missing something and have found no discussions or diagrams to point me to a solution.

Anyone else run into this or have knowledge of how everything should look underneath the button? In addition to the button itself, I have a cylindrical black plastic piece and a large coiled spring, plus a small white plastic piece and an even smaller coiled spring. There's only one way they seem to go together, but so far no joy restoring normal operation.

I've restored my O/D OFF function. I did have all the pieces and did reassemble them in the right order, but the trick seems to be that the shifter has to be in neutral when you do the reassembly. Everything works as it should now.
