Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone knows what this mystery latch is on the upper half of the sliding door railing. Its behind the upper panel below the tiny rear window. This is clearly spring loaded since I cannot push it out of the way but its been engaged and jams the left sliding door from opening. I've greased it and it doesn't seem to be connected to anything that I know of, nor is the right sliding door showing it.

Any thoughts on what this is and why its sticking? Currently the only work around is greasing it with lubricant and pushing it back far enough to not block the slider for the door. Any suggestions as to what it is or how to get it permanently fixed would be appreciated.

Left Passenger sliding door. Middle rail, looking towards the rear

Prevents the door from fully opening. Spring loaded and will not disengage.

 

Did you fix this? Same issue on my 2014! What was the fix?
