Mazda 626 2010 2.5 v6
Sorry if this in the wrong area.. I have a 10, mazda 626 2.5 v6, it has the green /white check valve broken???
VALVE, CHK (HE41-13-995) - $28.97 - HE4113995
Does the intake need to be removed to replace this valve? Also can i use a basic check valve from autozone/Oreillys? or the dealer?
and finally if i use a basic blk/white check valve which way should it go?
Thanks in advance..

our millenias have these valves. they are slightly less from tasca, which has the best prices on the web.
CHECK VALVE | Genuine Mazda | HE41-13-995
the 2.3 millenia has 21 feet of vacuum line, and 2 of these. the lines weld themselves to the outlets of the valve, which is plastic, and after years and thousands of heat cycles, the plastic becomes very brittle. at least 1 of the 2 will break whenever i change out the vacuum lines. they also can become clogged, and that will affect their operation. i have no experience with the mazda 6, but if you have more than 1 of these valves, even cutting off the vacuum line may not work. dunno about the oreilly valves, these suckers take a lot of vacuum. because of the supercharger on the 2.3, vacuum is also controlled by a mechanical vacuum pump, and it is stout. to get at these on the 2.3, the intake has to come off, which is labor intensive. so, since i KNOW the mazda valve works, i replace it with the same one. otherwise, if an aftermarket valve fails, i gotta pull the intake again, and buy the mazda one anyway. i did move one of the valves out in the open, next to the abv, so next time i can change it in a few minutes.
