Hey all-
I am having a problem with my 6 CD changer in my 04 Mazda 3S- The FM radio works fine, but when I load a CD, it won't play. It just says "CD" on the screen, and then shuts off. Again- I can load and eject the CDs fine, but they won't play. I tried inserting a laser cleaning CD thinking it might do something, but nothing is working. Any suggestions? I am really hoping the whole HU does not need to be replaced since Madza is out of their minds wanting $600 to replace.

 

It's not under warranty?

 

I had a 36K or 3 years, whichever came first, on the car when I bought it. I'm around 49K. There isn't a separate warranty for electronics, is there? Anyone know?

 

There might be if you have extended warranty.

 

if you end up replacing it with another HU, i wouldnt get the factory repacment. go after market. i got an in-dash DVD player that plays mp3s and is XM radio ready. i got it for 420.00. its Dual, not the best brand out there, but its a damn good price on a damn fine deck. or if your from a larger city, try a junkyard. they might have one.
