I need help on how ro reduce the play on my 93 mx6 shifter.thanx

 

Where is the extra play coming from? Get under the car and see if the bushings at the transmission connecting point are worn out. There are two plastic bushings where the shift rod connects to the trans. A small amount of movement is ok down there but too much will translate to a very sloppy shift feel in the car.
