hey, i have a 91 mazda miata mx-5.. and my headlights will not open and close.. i checked all of the fuses and relays, still cant figure it out.

anybody ever have the same problem?
i need help. =\

 

Are they stuck open or closed and did both quit operating at the same time???

 

you can open and close them manually.
the headlights turn on and off no problem... but im not sure why they will not open and close.. my hazard lights stopped working too..

 

Could be a motor problem or the relay itself is defective. The circuit board on the dash switch could be causing the error too.

 

Have you recently had the center console where the center dash vents and radio is located removed for any reason?? I was thinking that perhaps the headlight retractor switch right there next to the hazard switch had been accidently pushed which would disable the headlight from closing only but if the connectors for both of those switches were not reconnected or just came loose by themselves then that would possibly be solution to both problems.

 

yes actually i did have my center console removed recently.
come to think about it, i guess they stopped working around that time.

ill check it out.
but what do i do when i take off the center console?

 

Make sure the wiring connectors are plugged in. They could have been overlooked when the console was re installed.
