Dont you love...
When the simplest repairs go awry? We were swapping out my freinds stock shocks and struts for some KYB's and and eibach sportline springs... basic. The fronts, being nominally more difficult, went in no problem just as we had hoped. When we went to do the rear, which quite literally consists of TWO bolts, everything went haywire. Both bolts, on both sides, were eternally seized into the steel sleeves of the bushings. Long story short we had to torch them, destroying the bushing in doing so and now were waiting on parts. So instead of switching racks and aligning it this afternoon he was dropping another $250 into a prothane bushing kit and his car is down for a week. Days like this make me ever thankful for the days when things go right.
Yup.Even the best laid, ah... plans...... You know what they say in racing, I'm sure. It's usually the .25 part that keeps you from winning the race.
You don't say what you were working on though, just that it was your friend's car? We're not shy here. You can tell us it was a Honda, or Impala, or whatever.
Not a Honda or Impala at all, we dont do junk.haha. Mazda guys should somewhat enjoy this one actually.

Whao!! That's quite a ride!! A lot o' money sittin' there.
It looks like it's already scraping the ground. What's he gonna do when it's 1/2" lower?
And what does he do about the loss of front turn signals? Don't the cops like to have him visit from time to time? Then there's State inspection.... ah, you do have State inspections in Ohio, don't you? (I know some don't, or didn't used to but I'm not sure if Ohio is one of 'em.)
We have no inspections and we have no E-check (thats why he's buying an "off road" cat-delete pipe). As far as the ride height the stock struts were sagging so it should come out about the same. We changed the bulbs in the signals to amber insted of clear and mad small L-brackets to hold the sockets behind the grille. So They still illuminate there just isnt any lenseor housing. It's legal.... barely.
